Digital life and evolution?

Well I recently found a great article on a group of scientists that has created some software that supposedly can be used to study evolution. I think everyone who cares should give it a look, be it a creationist or a hard-core atheist. The program looks pretty neat. It is located here:

Did anyone else see the connection between computers and life here? In my most insane (even lesser insane) moments I've often thought that we coudl verywell be part of a computer...kinda like the matrix, only we aren't flesh and blood at all. We are software. But other than that fear, that's awesome!! We have proof of evolution now. I don't get how they didn't get programs that just didn't go "1+1=5" but very very interesting and cool.
