    FPS limit usually does the trick in ePSXe I presume PSXfin has the same sorta option

    if there is not limit option you may be able to manually set a FPS 60 for NTSC games and 50 for PAL games is the norm or 59.94 for NTSC and not sure for PAL but thats an exact FPS for NTSC software

    ok not a clue what any of that really means but there are options to change what look like screen resolutions and there is a 59hz, 60hz, or 75hz after each set but none of them appear to do anything.

    I don't know then I would be using ePSXe if was to emulate playstation games, although it may seem more complex at first atleast it is more compatible

    Looked at it myself... thats just silly running PAL games at 60Hz they will run too fast and go out of sync and in alot of cases just freeze up

    If you are trying to play a PAL (E) game that has a NTSC (U) release get the (U) version instead of the (E) version

    Not sure if that is the problem or not but also look under misc in the config section and change what Fast Forward is, default its set to BACKSPACE

    nah that's only the refresh rate of your monitor/tv what game??? I would honestly stay away from that piece of crap and use epsxe 1.7 and you can download a nice package here

    have you properly configured epsxe? If yes, please tell us what game you are trying to emulate. As for your save states, no. But you might be able to transfer the memory card saves, for that just rename the memory card save file to .mcr and choose it in epsxe settings, and if psxfin uses raw memory card saves like most other emulators it will work. (but I am not sure if it will)

    yea i think i got it configured right I'm using scph1001 for BIOS, Pete's D3D Driver 1.76 for the Video, Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41 for the sound, and ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.7.0 for the Cdrom but I'm using a ISO so that shouldn't matter right? and the game is FF9 which i got from coolrom.com and its in .bin format

    Just use the software driver for now

    P.E.Op.S soft <- use that for now just to get things going

    P.S. you do have the (U) don't you? the (E) version is copy protected

    you can still use the (E) version though if you realt want to, I will inform you how if needs be

    the (E) FFIX patches files can be found here just extract that to the patches folder

    If you still want to use direct 3D or Open GL I can go through that with you aswell

    E stands for Europe and U stands for United States. Can you post the link from which you downloaded your file?

    the easy way to tell is by opening the CD image with D-Tools Lite and open the virtual drive there with be a file that just looks like a code..

    ISObuster or CDMage is an even easier way just open the CD image with ISObuster and it will list the contents of the CD

    I will give you CDMage here it's freeware software anyway, just drop the cue file onto it

    List of file name codes used for FFIX disc 1

    SLUS_012.51 = NTSC-U (USA) disc 1
    SLES_029.65 = PAL E (English) disc 1
    SLES_029.66 = PAL E (French) disc 1
    SLES_029.67 = PAL-E (German) disc 1
    SLES_029.68 = PAL-E (Italian) disc 1
    SLES_029.69 = PAL-E (Spanish) disc 1
    SCPS_455.00 = NTSC-J (Japanese) disc 1
    SLPS_020.00 = NTSC-J (Japanese) disc 1
    SLPM_873.88 = NTSC-J (Japanese) disc 1

    the 3rd leter usually indicades the region

    E = Europe
    U = USA
    P = Japanese

    Personly I am not going to download anything from cool roms and as the only re-releases are Greatest Hits, Platinum and PSone Classics I'm unaware of any of those being a fix of any sort and just re-releases of the original release under cheaper lables so I don not know where they are getting version 1.1 from

    P.S. how did you try and use the patches with ePSXe, as there is no reason for it to crash
