Probably just worn out. They usually "die in a fire" so to speak
Here is the site where I bought a PSU for my last PC...took me a minute to remember the site.

$17.83

WHOA. Those things cost 10 bucks from newegg. fucking printer cables, that's how the printer companies make their money. cables and cartridges.
Yep. I bought everything from Outlet PC when I completely upgraded the last computer I had. I lost my bookmark at some point, but now I have it saved again.
If I remember correctly, I bought 1.5GB PC 133 RAM, mATX PSU, 2.4GHz P4 and the heatsink/fan/paste from them. Obviously, it was a while back...
the Auxillary temp sensor in speed fan is measuring 43 degrees celcius, WTF?
Can you post a screenshot?

Oh man, I gotta tell you about my job yesterday
Panda Man™ says:
I got a job reinstalling XP on a laptop
Panda Man™ says:
It originally came with Vista but vista on a laptop......................
Panda Man™ says:
He got XP on it by taking it to a tech near me, but he moved
Panda Man™ says:
That was like a year ago
Panda Man™ says:
anyways, it needed formatting
Panda Man™ says:
He originally took it to a PC shop and they couldn't do it
Panda Man™ says:
So then he thought of calling me
Panda Man™ says:
I went down to the office
Panda Man™ says:
Put the disk in, and proceeded with setup
Panda Man™ says:
Setup could not find any disks
Panda Man™ says:
I was like
Panda Man™ says:
I've never heard of that happening on a laptop
Panda Man™ says:
So I think "ok, no problem"
Panda Man™ says:
Just go to gateway's site and get the HDD controller drivers
* says:
ok
Panda Man™ says:
As a side note, gateway caps their downloads at 40 Kbps
* says:
lol
Panda Man™ says:
WTF
Panda Man™ says:
Panda Man™ says:
Anyways
Panda Man™ says:
I get the controlelr driver
Panda Man™ says:
the actual drivers are in a cab file and I can't get it extracted
Panda Man™ says:
They set the program up to where the ONLY way you can get the drivers is to put a floppy in the the drive
Panda Man™ says:
and have it format/ copy the drivers for you
* says:
ok
Panda Man™ says:
This is specific to his laptop
Panda Man™ says:
The download/program to put the drivers on the floppy, Specific for his lappy
Panda Man™ says:
got that, right?
* says:
yeah, except the puter has no floppy?
Panda Man™ says:
Well..... HIS LAPTOP DOESN'T HAVE A FUCKING FLOPPY DRIVE
Panda Man™ says:
XD
Panda Man™ says:
I was like WTF GATEWAY!!??!?
Panda Man™ says:
The guy had to run home, and somehow he had ONE floppy disk laying around at his house, so as he ran home he grabbed it and brought it back
* says:
lol
Panda Man™ says:
I copied the utility to a flash drive and find an old ass comp with a floppy drive
Panda Man™ says:
ran the proggie twice since it failed the first time
Panda Man™ says:
then copied the extracted drivers to my USB drive
* says:
Panda Man™ says:
brought it to another PC with a CD burner and slipstreamed the drivers his winxp disk
* says:
haha
Panda Man™ says:
Well, made a custom disk with his winxp disk anyways'
Panda Man™ says:
* says:
i was going to suggest that
Panda Man™ says:
Gateway support is so fucked up
Panda Man™ says:
XD
* = Polobunny btw
It's true kiddies, run away from gateway!
dude....
way way way way easier way.
here. virtual floppy drive
i dug it up because hp makes you use a floppy for their usb boot something or other. anyway point is, use it. and also what model gateway was it. becasue im having that same problem.... a friend forgot their password, so i was gonna use something like bartpe or offline nt reg editor to fix it.... but the latter you cant use different drivers, and the former i have little to no experience with.
ANNNYYYWHO. the whole reason i came in here....
