Default Some Sony PSP Mod questions

    http://www.epforums.org/sale-trade-p...820/index.html

I am really thinking of getting the PSP right now, but I don't know how to get the ISOs from the computer to the memory stick, does what included in Sprung's deal cover that? Also, I remember him saying the firmware he has does not cover PSX games, so if it doesn't, how do I make it able to do so?

EDIT: Is this what I would need? http://www.amazon.com/High-Speed-Mem...4737526&sr=8-1

Ever considered googling? Or checking one of the many PSP threads in the Sony sub-forum? I already answered the ISO question in there, and if you want to know anything about Sprung's PSP you should probably go to that thread.

I kind of did it in both, I guess that was kind of wrong.

You use a USB-a to USB-b cable (fat to small USB cable) to connect the PSP to the PC, no extra peripheral is required, so forget about that Memory Card Reader. Complete waste of money.

    http://www.gamerspress.com/index.php...gle_Disk_Howto
That tells you about PSX emulation.

Sprungs PSP has 3.02 OE, which is pretty old. Updating to 3.52M33 is easy, so don't worry about that. If 3.02 doesnt have PSX compatibility, then just take 10 minutes to update.

Is this the product you are referring to, and is there a cheaper option if yes?

    http://www.amazon.com/Jetlan-Network...4740612&sr=1-1

    or maybe this is?

    http://www.amazon.com/Intec-G6750-PS...4741915&sr=1-1

Also, the tutorial you gave me says I need to make my ISO, is it possible just to use a downloaded ISO, I think I can but I would just like to make sure.

This is the USB cable you need. Any cheap cable is fine.

The majority of PSX games you download will be .iso files, in the rare case .mds/.mdf or something else, but they can be easily converted anyway.

To 'make' an iso means ripping a CD, which honestly is pointless. And besides, at least if you download it you're less likely to get a bad dump of the iso.

I'll have to get back to you with the PSX emulation though, I'm looking into it now.

Well at least I won't have to rip the disc, I thought I didn't have to, you just have to have the file. Thanks Sprung, my mom is freaking out that it won't come (she still doesn't understand why I would buy a used PSP. Thanks SA-X for looking into it for me.

That's the one. Free shipping is pretty good too

Tell your mom to rest assured, I will send the PSP and it'll arrive safe and sound.

Okay, I will probably tell her about the cable tommorrow, it's fairly cheap, and it's all I need right? I told her about the site, and she knows I download this stuff. They just don't understand still why I would buy one used (so I don't brick a new one).

Alright I can't wait, I am going on ahead and taking the liberty to download some PSP games, and if SA-X/anyone else finds the info for me before I get it, I will set up what I can for PSX. Also, trying to put the PSX emu on, can it brick the PSP? Or for that matter, any other emu (such as the NES one)?

Emulators won't brick a PSP, but always be careful when updating to a new firmware. Keep the A/C adapter plugged in and never turn the PSP off manually until it's done.

I'll enter your address later to be sure, but the other package I'm sending out monday is guaranteed to be delivered by the end of business day wednesday, so I assume yours will be too

Have a look at angelmikey511's videos on youtube...They are good quality and easy to follow.

He doesn't have anything on PS1, sadly, but I will check him out still.

EDIT: Is there a GBA emulator that works with the firmware 3.02? It could be nice if you guys could tell me which emulators are compatible/ not compatible as well. I also want an N64 emu for it as well if it works well. Since my R4 doesn't do GBA and N64, that is really all I need/want.
