    Default Emulators /on/ a PS2 questions...

The big one is.... Do you need to have your console chipped to play them? I was going to make a disk for my friend but not much point if it dosnt let him play it

Also.... what emulators are there that are worth getting for it just now? The only one I have at the moment is snes station, but I hear there is a MegaDrive one too? Anyone have any links to that, or other ones?

    Thanks guys and gals.

Yes, you do need a chipped PS2, but if you check SNES-Stations homepage I am sure you can find a tool that enables you to play it at a nonchipped one (I think)

I am pretty sure that there is a Mega Drive out there too.

No, you don't have to have a chipped PS2 to play most of them. The only one I've run across that requires a chip is the Master System emu, so you should be able to run them using the PS2 swap. And you should be able to find the emulators at Zophar.net.

Last time I went to SNES Station's home page it linked to the Genesis one too. But Zophar's definately a good bet.
Hey Cyber, I just got a new PS2 since my old one kicked the bucket. Was that swap trick how you use emulation CDs? Is this the one where you had to take it apart?

Yeah, you gotta take it apart to do it.

I just checked out the SNES Station site. There appears to be a utility to fix the CD so you can use it if you don't have a mod chip. I think I will check this out and let you know how I do with it. I would like anyone else to try it to get a better view if I do something wrong.
The link to the Genesis emulator is on their news page. It is http://pgen.gamebase.ca I don't know what you have to have to use it. It looks like the CDGenPS2 proggie thing may fix it so you don't have to use a modchip for it either.
And I think taking my brand new PS2 apart is pretty much something I want to avoid. I like having one that works good again.
